As we summer travel resumes after a year of staying home, let’s take a look inside a hotel.
The main reason why my mother booked a night at The Beekman was to snap photos of her and the nine-story Victorian era atrium. To be fair, the atrium is elegant. The building used to be a courthouse before it was turned into a luxury hotel. Unfortunately, my mother didn’t fancy the loud noise at night coming from the bar at the bottom of the atrium.
While the interior was refined, I couldn’t help but question a large photo on the wall in our room that appears to be a man painting a man with dark skin next to a person with sweats and a plush-like panda head between two real pandas against a mountainous backdrop. What an interest choice of putting that next to the mini bar.
Also, my father accidentally kept a key when we left.
