Happy Earth Day! Initially, I just planned on sharing a photo from the garden, but I saw a stronger message in this photo.
It was almost Easter, so there’s the explanation for the bunny. Rockefeller Plaza was filled with flowers and Easter-themed decor. Usually, this area is crowded with tourists looking for a glamor shot, but for once I could take floral photography without having humans interfering with my shot.
But even though there are no people in this photo, there is a form of human interference – that reflection of a building.
Since it’s in a mirror, what is reflected is in reverse. The building, though usually serving companies, seeing many meetings and coffee breaks, is most likely mostly empty because of “you know what.” Even with the beauty of the flowers prevailing, this current situation is persistent because of humans.
Yet, the windows in the mirror reflect a blue sky. Perhaps that’s a good sign.
