Haiku #7: The Medusa Cat

Last month, I did a postcard exchange with a fellow from Hong Kong. I found something poetic about the illustration in it, so I present to you a haiku inspired by what I saw.

I want to note that kurage means “jellyfish” – if you know your cnidaria, you know the term is a common name for their medusa-phase. The words itself contains the characters for “sea” and “moon.” A jellyfish is essentially a moon in the sea given how it glows in the water.
