Autumn in New York — always inviting.
Okay, the season isn’t so inviting when it’s colder or warmer than usual, but the idea of autumn in New York stimulates the senses.
One may remember the taste of hot chocolate or apple cider, perhaps the warm feeling of a cozy wool sweater and scarf.
Perhaps they can hear the sound of fallen leaves being stepped on or see the vivid colors of the ones still on the trees.
Although the photo series that this post is associated with usually highlights plants in bloom, the leaves in this post are past that peak, fallen and losing their vividness. It’s a change from the usual, as are the colors for the leaves.
In this photo, there is still one leaf hanging on to its dear color, while the rest are losing theirs to time and the cold ground. The one leaf looks like it still has its fire.
But as the trees become bare, a cycle begins to color the world in green again.
