‘Pharma Bro’ is a former business of The Ticker

This graphic was made for an article about the Federal Trade Commission requesting a federal court to hold Martin Shkreli, a pharmaceutical entrepreneur and Baruch College alumnus, in contempt for allegedly flouting an investigation into his business practices.

Shkreli served as The Ticker’s acting business editor from February 2002 to March 2002. There is at least one copy of the existing issue his first issue in office storage closet. Staff members uncovered it while sorting through old copies for the Baruch librarians to scan and update their archive of Ticker issues. Former staff members were aware of this fact, too.

I thought it was rumor up until the day I helped sort old issues. Here are links to the issues he worked on:

Anyway, This graphic was made just a day before the deadline. I referenced a photo of Shkreli from the internet since there aren’t a lot of photos of him on the public domain. I used a photo of the FTC that I took in July 2022.
