Haiku #23: After the Rain

Back from a partial summer hiatus. Welcome, Autumn.

I originally wrote this haiku for a correspondent who requested a haiku about rain. I’ve had a lot of people request for haikus about rain. I enjoyed this prompt, so I might just write an entire series related to precipitation.

It’s after the rain

For the next color*

For the translation of 色 or iro, I went with the common meaning of “color,” but it may also translate as “affair,” “lover,” “feeling,” or “one’s voice,” all of which have the same number of syllables. Either word that is used fits the atmosphere I intended for the haiku, romantic.
