Tucked somewhere inside the bamboo grove of Arashiyama in Kyoto, the Ryōanji Rock Garden makes its home. Across the temple on the property is a pond with koi — not a lot of them but still majestic to watch.
The surrounding non-bamboo trees were a beautiful color, one I’d expect to see in autumn. The protruding log branch is situated in a way that channels wabisabi. To add on, the rock garden is arranged in the same manner, but I didn’t capture it on photo. Indeed, the hidden paradise gives visitors a moment of zen.
