For my multimedia reporting class, I did a photojournalism assignment on a local produce stand turned-flower stand for the February holiday weekend. I posted on Medium as part of the assignment.
I’m not one to promote my own work. I think self promotion is a bit prideful, but sometimes it has to be done in order to go places. For me, it’s to go and get a grade for an assignment, but also because the two people behind the business are very kind. Well, I also needed an idea for the Sunday blog post.
The last time I published an article for the public was in June 2019 on the importance of vaccinating — it’s a recurring subject, but I like to think I was ahead of my time during that school year with everything I wrote. I wrote a few articles for other journalism classes, but I didn’t have them published. It was a choice I made based on what was going on at the time. I was disappointed by what I had been through reporting on one and shocked by the unfortunate timing of the other. I have luck, but it’s not always in favor of me. There’s also the conditions I set for the interview to happen – it was for a class, and I stated that it wouldn’t what they said was not going to be published. I’m still keeping my word.
Here’s a link. Carry on now.
