I drew this as part of Quarantober 2020. For the “alive” day, I thought about “Being Alive” from Stephen Sondheim’s Company (1970). It’s one of my favorite musicals because of the method of storytelling in addition to the themes and comedy.
For the color, I was inspired by the aesthetic of the 2018 West End/2020-ish Broadway production. As for the pose and balloons, they too are inspired by the production, but the jacket and shirt are that of Neil Patrick Harris from the 2011 New York Philharmonic performance. The dark suit contrasts with the colorful background. I left the face bare, but kept the smile as Bobby/Bobbie should.
